The Friendly Market will open for the season on March 26, 2011 at 7:00 a.m.
 April 9th
Encore Pets will be at the market to raise awareness. They will bring dogs and cats available for adoption. They will also have homemade dog treats available. They will be hosting a doggie treat Easter egg hunt. Registration is at 11 am, hunt starts 11:30 am and will take place under the trees, open to any dog owners interested. This will be the first annual Encore Pets' Dog Easter "Egg" Hunt.
April 16th
Morehead Primary School PTO is having an Easter lily sale. Lilies will be $10.00. The Friendly Market is also the designated pickup site for all preorders during the school fundraiser.
April 23rd
 West Carteret FFA will be hosting a tomato growing contest. Free to all kids ages 5-12. They will bring seedling tomato plants and the high school FFA members will talk about transplanting, care, and maintenance of their plants. Download student release form here.
Kids will take plants home and on July 16th they will bring their biggest and best shaped tomatoes to The Friendly Market for a county fair style judging contest. Participation ribbons and prizes will be awarded. Then The Friendly Market will have a free BLT lunch celebration to end.
 May 7th
The Keli Wagner Big Rock Lady Angler Tournament will be represented at The Friendly Market to raise breast cancer awareness. Open to kids of all ages, they will have fresh strawberries to dip in pink colored chocolate (for breast cancer awareness). Kids will decorate vases and create their own “bouquet” of dipped strawberries for mom on mother’s day. They will also have merchandise from The Big Rock available to purchase.
